I worked the meet for the ACC as a pool photographer - just finished editing my set of 4x400 photos. So it was interesting to me that there were a lot of variety on the teams - I saw 400, 200, 800, milers, hurdlers, and even a pentathlete on the 4x400 teams for the different schools, but it is clear that teams like Duke and Miami (for women), and Florida St, Clemson, etc. for the men have more 400 specialists (btw - FSU men were DQ'd in the 4x400 - they would have won the event otherwise). I know VT ran 4x400 teams at LU meet in mid Feb and were looking for a good combo, but the team this Saturday just didn't have the speed to make it a closer race. Having Butler and Ballowe on the team would have helped, but I'm sure they are eyeing a nice result in the indoor national DMR, and the 800 for Butler (don't want to risk injury).

If Miami could have beaten Duke in the 4x400, which they almost did, that would have given the women the sole team win.
